Thanking Someone for an Act of Kindness

writing-a-quick-5-minute-note-speaks-to-random-acts-of-kindnessHave you ever been the recipient of a random act of kindness?

We all benefit when someone touches are life in an unexpected way. It’s a blessing that makes us feel great. Many times we feel the need to reciprocate or at least thank that person, but we don’t know how to respond in a practical manner.

Writing a quick 5-minute note is the answer. A simple note gives us the ability to thank the person who went above and beyond what we’d consider normal in this day and age. The note is the perfect response for any act of service or kindness, because it allows us to demonstrate our gratitude for what they accomplished on our behalf.

But where do we begin?

The other day I asked Sunnyboy if he could help me with a thank you note. His response was, “Bark, rough!” Then he gave me a template I could use to write someone a short thank you note.

Here is the template Sunnyboy gave me…

You are a person that inspires me to __________________________.

Thank you for being so great!

[Your Name]

By filling in the blanks, I personalized my note. Here is a sample of how I used it…

Hello Brenda,

I wanted to send you a simple note to tell you how grateful I am to have you in my life. Thank you for being who you are, which among many other things is kind, supportive and energetic.

You are a person that inspires me to be diligent in all I do and watch the success that follows with a fullness of joy.

Thank you for being so great!
